Making Jewish History Fun and Interactive
History is an adventure — an exploration of ideas, places, people, cultures, and the stories that connect us all.
I am here to share my passion for all of the above with your family in this online Jewish history course, so you can also get excited about the study of history.
This is primarily a Jewish History course, but we also delve quite a lot into global history. Jewish history does not happen in a vacuum, and I believe that with a better understanding of the context—cultural, geographic, historic—we enrich our own learning and identity and appreciation of the world.
As a child of the Old City of Jerusalem, I have a strong connection to ancient history and archaeology. We will learn about many ancient cultures and artifacts and learn how to think about and engage with them.
During the year, we will cover a diverse range of topics, including Tanach (Biblical stories), other periods of Jewish history, famous characters in global and Jewish history, and the occasional fun topic about anything from science and technology to art and archaeology. We explore ideas such as mythologies, paintings, different cultures, and use Google Earth to travel to distant places.
For local families, I also offer on-site tours throughout the year, on average once a month. I also travel occasionally to the US and offer tours to local homeschool communities. More about that in the monthly museum tours tab.
Do I need prior knowledge?
No, but it helps. I always introduce every topic with a brief overview to bring everyone up to speed. I assume my audience is diverse, and I do my best to present the material in a respectful and thoughtful way. Jewish and Biblical topics are taught with a respectful attitude towards the entire spectrum of secular-traditional-religious attendees.
The classes are geared towards everyone from those with little or no knowledge of Jewish history to the more familiar and/or religious. I do my best to accommodate everyone and to be respectful without imposing a particular view.
My terminology will be both general (e.g. ‘Babylon’, ‘Genesis’, ‘Temple’) and traditional (e.g. ‘Bavel’, ‘Beit haMikdash/Beis haMikdosh’). This way, everyone knows what I’m talking about and can connect.
Ages 6-16: Multi-Age Learning
This course is for kids and teens, and adults often join and enjoy as well. The earliest age I recommend is 6, but this varies from child to child. I have regulars who are 4 years old, and some who only joined at age 7 when they felt ready. As we grow our community further, I hope to separate classes by age, just like we do in the Hebrew course.
Online and on-site classes.
Online classes and museum tours are independent of each other. Read more about the tours in the relevant tab.
Recorded Classes & Video Library Access
All classes are recorded and edited with extra links and videos added to each video. You are given access to the recording of any class you paid for.
Classes from previous years are grouped together as courses and are available for purchase on this site. You must become a site member in order to do this; a very straightforward process.

Hands-On History: Monthly Museum Adventures in Israel
Once a month, we have meet-ups in museums and historical sites throughout Israel. This gives us an opportunity to meet face-to-face, have fun learning and exploring together, and involve the whole family in hands-on historical discovery.
The tours are open to the whole family – I only charge for kids ages 5 and up. Parents and toddlers are welcome to join and help keep things organized while enjoying the experience.
In Israel, these tours are conducted in Hebrew, though I can accommodate English speakers when necessary.
How do I sign up?
Tours are scheduled through group discussion and surveys to determine the best days, times, and attendance. Join our dedicated WhatsApp group for monthly museum tours (in Hebrew) to participate in planning and receive updates.
Do you offer tours in the US?
Yes! I travel annually to the NY area offering tours of the Met and AMNH. When in California, I guide at the Getty Villa and Skirball Museum. I also visit other states like Atlanta, Florida, Chicago, and Baltimore, and I’m open to traveling to meet other homeschool communities.
What’s the cost?
₪50-60 per child/teen + museum admission. Parents handle admission fees directly. Group discounts are announced when available. Rates in the US are in USD, and are slightly different.
Are there free samples?
Yes, absolutely!
In fact, there are quite a few free classes, and I will list a few of them here. You are welcome to explore more in our video library of previous courses.
