Our childhood story of Chanukah is very oversimplified. Things are always more complex and subtle than we first learn them. In this two-part course, we cover important aspects of the story that encourage us to think a little bit differently.
In this course, we will meet the Greeks and their culture, “Hellenism”, and how they impacted the region. We will learn about what happened from the conquest of Alexander the Great until the Chanukah story, with a wealth of information from archaeology and history.
