Chanukah or the “Festival of Lights” is a winter holiday that deals with the Greeks. But if you think that the Greeks sent ships from Athens to Judea to fight the Maccabees, you’ll be pleasantly surprised to learn that it’s a lot more complex than that.
In this course, we will mee the Greeks and their culture, “Hellenism”, and how they impacted the region. We will learn about what happened from the conquest of Alexander the Great until the Chanukah story, with a wealth of information from archaeology and history.
