Where Are We in History?
A Young Time Traveler’s Guide to History
Imagine you have a time machine, and you manage to land in an unknown historic period. How would you know when you are?
In this series that kicks off the year, kids will get the tools to ask the right questions. How to read the past, how to know when we are? What are the clues, tools, needs, inventions, that define each era? We will learn about archaeological layers that are like ‘lasagna’ or a layer cake. The deeper we dig, the farther we move back in time. We will learn what questions to ask to determine when we are, and the characteristics of every period. This way we will build a framework for understanding the classes throughout the year.
Classes are for ages 6-14, and the level is geared towards the audience
This class is part of The Museum Guy’s Homeschool History Course — weekly bilingual Zoom classes on Jewish history, archaeology and world history, plus monthly in-person museum meetups around Israel, taught by Nachliel Selavan.
