Making Jewish History Fun and Interactive
History is an adventure and an exciting exploration of ideas, places, people, cultures and cool things.
I am here to share that passion with your family, in my online Jewish history course, so you can also get excited about the study of history.
This is primarily a Jewish History course, and we delve quite a lot into global history. Jewish history does not happen in a vacuum, and I believe that with a better understanding of the context—cultural, geographic, historic—we enrich our own learning and identity, and appreciation of the world.
As a child of the Old City of Jerusalem, I share the excitement for ancient history and archaeology, and we will learn about many ancient cultures and artifacts, and learn how to think about them an engage with them.
During the year, we will cover a diverse range of topics, including Tanach—Biblical stories, other periods of Jewish history, famous people from global and Jewish history, and the occasional fun topic about anything from science and technology to art and archaeology. We explore ideas such as mythologies, paintings, different cultures and ideas, and use google earth to travel to distant places.
For local families, I also offer on-site tours throughout the year, once a month, on average. I also travel to the US and offer tours to the local homeschool communities. More about that in the monthly museum tours tab.
Do I need prior knowledge?
No. But it helps. I always introduce every topic with a brief overview, to being everyone up to speed. I assume my audience is diverse, and I do my best to present the material in a respectful and thoughtful way. Jewish and Biblical topics are taught with a respectful attitude towards the entire spectrum of secular-traditional-religious attendees.
The classes are geared towards everyone from those with little or no knowledge of Jewish history, to the more familiar and/or religious. I do my best to accommodate everyone and be respectful, without imposing a particular view.
This means that my terminology will be both general (e.g. ‘Babylon’, ‘Genesis’, ‘Temple’) and traditional (e.g. ‘Bavel’, ‘Bereshit’, ‘Beit haMikdash/Beis haMikdosh’). This way, everyone knows what I’m talking about and connect.
Ages 6-16: Multi-Age Learning
This course is for kids and teens, and adults often join and enjoy as well. The earliest age I recommend is 6, and this varies from child to child. I have regulars who are 4 years old, and some who only joined at 7, when they feel ready. Once we grow our community further, we will be able to separate classes by ages, just like we do in the Hebrew course.
Online and on-site classes.
The online classes and the museum tours are independent of each other. Read more about the tours in the relevant tab.
Recorded Classes & Video Library Access
All classes are recorded and edited, and extra links and videos are added to each video. You should get access to the recording of any class you paid for.
Classes from previous years are group together as courses, and are available for purchase on site. You need to become a site member in order to do this, which is a very straightforward process.
Stay Connected: Updates & Community
I have a newsletter, WhatsApp group, and Instagram page @HomeschoolHistoryGuy, and if you’re a site member, you should be able to follow updates as well.

Hands-On History: Monthly Museum Adventures in Israel
Once a month, we have meet-ups in museums and historical sites throughout Israel. This gives us an opportunity to meet face-to-face, have fun learning and exploring together, and involve the whole family in hands-on historical discovery.
The tours are open to the whole family – I only charge for kids ages 5-6 and up. Parents and toddlers are welcome to join and help keep things organized while enjoying the experience.
Since I’m based in Israel, these tours are conducted in Hebrew, though I can accommodate English speakers when necessary.
How do I sign up?
Tours are scheduled through group discussion and surveys to determine the best days, times, and attendance. Join our dedicated WhatsApp group for monthly museum tours (in Hebrew) to participate in planning and receive updates.

Do you offer tours in the US?
Yes! I travel annually to the NY area offering tours of the Met and AMNH. When in California, I guide at the Getty Villa and Skirball Museum. I also visit other states like Atlanta, Chicago, and Baltimore, and I’m open to traveling to meet other homeschool communities.
What’s the cost?
₪50-60 per child/teen + museum admission. Parents handle admission fees directly. Group discounts are announced when available.
Are there free samples?
Yes, absolutely!
In fact, there are quite a few free classes, and I will list a few of them here. You are welcome to explore more in our video library of previous courses.

This class was given in September 2024, as an introduction to the course of that year. It is a follow up to the babylonian exile, described in the class called “The Age of Empires part 2: The Babylonians and the Kingdom of Judah”, available in the previous courses library.
