Crazy Life
Creatures You Won’t Believe Are Real
Real life turns out weirder than anything we could make up.
In this class we track down nature’s most outrageous survivors — a fish that fishes with its own headlamp, a creature that can switch off its body for decades and reboot the moment water returns, a jellyfish that, in a sense, refuses to die. Every “impossible” trait turns out to be the answer to an impossible problem, and once you start reading animals that way, it’s hard to stop — this isn’t a list of fun facts, it’s a framework for how life adapts to a world that doesn’t always cooperate.
This class is part of The Museum Guy’s Homeschool History Course — weekly bilingual Zoom classes on Jewish history, archaeology and world history, plus monthly in-person museum meetups around Israel, taught by Nachliel Selavan.
