On November 19, 2016 Magen David Yeshivah<\/a> was the first school I have taught and guided in The Metropolitan Museum of Art<\/a>. Followed shortly by Tanach Study<\/a> on December 4, 2016, these were my two guided tours at #theMet<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Almost two years later, with several different tours under my belt, and I’ve had the privilege of sharing my passion for #museums<\/a>, #Torah<\/a> \u05d5 #Archaeology<\/a> with hundreds of people: children, students, rabbis and community leaders, #synagogues<\/a>, study groups and institutions. I’ve done tours for fundraisers and run special events, and have visited numerous museums in the US (tagged some), #Israel<\/a>, and currently in the UK, and am looking forward to continuing this #amazing<\/a> #journey<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thanks to this tour, I was hired by Magen David, and am now happily beginning my second year in the school, teaching #JewishHistory<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Join us at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, where visit the \u201cBible Neighborhood\u201d and Meet the Phoenicians, Assyrians and Babylonians. Understand the last chapters of II-Melachim, select passages in Yeshayahu and Yirmiyahu and more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

See the artifacts from the time and place where the stories happened, and understand their historic context. Understand the dilemmas of the last kings of Israel and Judah and the impact of their choices, as they faced the mighty Assyrian Empire, allied with Egypt, and ultimately went into exile in Babylon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nachliel put together an interactive and informative program in the MET. It was a great experience to see firsthand some of the artifacts that our biblical ancestors saw, as presented to us in the Tanach. It was especially moving to stand under the Ishtar Gate, the same gate our ancestors entered through as they were exiled from Jerusalem to Babel during first temple period, circa 586 BC. <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
